Yeats College have participated in the Galway Giving Tree for a second year. Yeats College staff, students and parents have donated almost 130 gifts to The Galway Giving Tree this Christmas. The Galway Giving Tree is a programme that works in conjunction with Galway businesses to collect Christmas gifts for underprivileged children and adults here in Galway who would otherwise go without.

The programme is very straightforward: The Galway Giving Tree partners with local social service agencies to gather the Christmas ‘wishes’. The ‘wishes’ are printed onto gift tags. The gift tags are hung from Christmas Trees located at ‘Host Businesses’ such as ourselves. If someone wishes to donate, they simply select a gift tag from the tree, purchase the gift and attach the gift tag, and then place the gift under the tree. Gifts are then collected by Galway Giving Tree elves and distributed in time for Christmas.

This is a simple programme that makes a big difference to a child and their family. Last year The Galway Giving Tree delivered almost 1600 gifts to local children and much-needed supplies to those in need. Yeats College are delighted to be part of the amazing initiative again this year and we would like to extend our sincerest thanks to all the students, parents and staff who placed gifts under our tree.
